Meet Leia, a pioneer in the cannabis industry whose journey began in the early 2000s as a medical marijuana grower.
From those humble beginnings, Leia's passion for advocacy propelled her to volunteer her way to the presidency of Oregon Green Free, the state's first cannabis 501c3 organization. Over the years, she tirelessly fought for patients' rights, drawing on her background in the legal field to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
Teaming up with Attorney Leland Berger, Leia co-founded Oregon CannaBusiness Compliance Counsel, leveraging her legal expertise to assist businesses in the cannabis space. Her commitment to advocacy led her from serving on the board of Portland NORML to becoming the Deputy Director of Oregon NORML, where she continued her efforts to shape policies and support the community.
Understanding the social needs of those within the cannabis community, Leia embarked on a new venture by opening a social club. What began as a small tea house evolved into a hub for cannabis nonprofits, offering a space for patient exchanges, yoga classes, and more. After years of solo ownership, Leia partnered with Joshua to rebrand the club into the beloved Flight Lounge that stands today, a testament to her vision and dedication to fostering community within the cannabis industry.

My journey into cannabis is deeply personal. It began with my mom's battle against cancer in the mid-90s. Seeing how cannabis could have helped her sparked a passion in me to ensure others have access to its healing power.
This led me to dive headfirst into the industry, driven by a mission to make a difference.
Today, I'm pioneering something I feel is crucial for the industry and community and that's social consumption, creating spaces for like-minded people to sip, smoke, and socialize.
At Flight Lounge, we focus on community building, industry education, and having fun. From hosting epic events to fostering connections during brunch service, I'm all about bringing people together over a shared love & celebration of cannabis. Because something that's saves lives should be celebrated and appreciated.
